Settling in

Our condo is pictured.  After a stroll along the windy beach in the morning we played our first round of golf at the Shipyard course. We were buddied up with a father and son. The son was 11 years old and very friendly and very  very enthusiastic about his golf, some of which was good, but a lot was wayward. They were lucky that we were tolerant of his enthusiasm because others may have been annoyed with it. His father kept him well under control, but it was not easy for us to concentrate on our golf. There were quite a few alligators basking in the sun.  Liz was quite brave and got within 15 yards of one to take her shot!  We enjoyed the round which was played in warm sunshine but became chilly as the sun set.

Here's one Liz didn't spot just by her tee

We decided to eat out at a Mexican restaurant on the way home. The restaurant was very busy with not a sign of a facemask, but the food was good. There are very few people here wearing masks, but we have worn ours in the shops.

Yesterday was a quiet day, with a visit to Walmart in the morning. There were the usual Walmart sights to be seen but apart from a few essentials we didn't buy much. I went for a short walk along the beach in the afternoon, but it was a cooler day despite being sunny. The dry sand was blowing along the beach and there were not many people about. Ben stayed in to see the start of the Daytona 500 race.  There were 40 cars racing bumper to bumper at just under 200 mph.  After the first crash Ben changed to watch the Genesis Invitation golf tournament.

The photo is taken from our house window and shows one of our neighbours singing its heart out!
