The weather has changed, and we are now experiencing cooler temperatures with some rain. Despite a forecast for thunder showers yesterday and today, we have managed to play golf both days. It is interesting to note that, having previously seen the golf courses crowded, when we went to play on both days there was hardly anyone there - too cold for the locals!! Yesterday's choice was to go and play again at Eagles Pointe. This transpired not to have been a good choice due to the course being low lying and having suffered from a lot of overnight rain. As a result, buggies were not allowed on the course, only on the path, and every shot we hit seemed to go on the far side of the fairway from the path. We did much more walking and when we reached our ball, we often didn't have the club we wanted. It was even more annoying when we saw the family ahead of us driving their buggies all over the fairways - the buggy master was on his way to give them a rollicking when we got in! The course was quite wet and muddy underfoot and I did not play at all well. It was quite humid and cloudy, but we missed the rain showers.

Today at lunch time after studying the weather charts we decided we would go and play this afternoon at Dolphin Head. This course is at the North end of the Island, which we had played 2 years ago. We were surprised that they accepted our discount vouchers from 2 years ago! There were a few spots of rain about when we arrived at the course and we were told that there were no other golfers on the course, millionaire's golf++! This course was drier underfoot than yesterday, although there were plenty of lakes around the course. It rained a little just after we started but there was no more rain after that. My golf improved from yesterday and we enjoyed the course without meeting anyone else on the way round.

After we finished this afternoon, as we were in the area of Hudson's which had been recommended to us, we decided to try again as previously we were not prepared to wait for 1hr.30 for a table. Whilst busy, there were were nowhere near the numbers we had previously experienced, and we quickly got a table. We both ate 'shrimps and grits' which were very tasty. The restaurant was quite noisy, but we read that, at peak summer times, they feed up to 1000 people a day! We were in and out very quickly as the Americans seem to have many more staff on duty and the food arrives very quickly.
Great to keep up-to-date with all your adventures! It sounds like golfers paradise! Even if the weather has changed it's still got to be better than here in the UK, although having said that we've had some nice Spring sunshine this week. The bulbs are coming up and the daffs are out and the snowdrops just about finished. There's that lovely promise of Spring on the way! Can't believe you will be home next Friday, the Friday Crew are all really looking forward to seeing you both and hearing all about your travels. Safe travels. Paulette x
