We have had 2 cooler days this week with the temperatures barely reaching 60 degrees. As it cooled down we realised that our heating/air conditioning system was not working. We were frustrated as it seemed impossible to speak to a human being for the maintenance department of the letting company. The normal phone was not manned so a message had to be left and the emergency department's answer machine was full and couldn't take any more messages. We called at the company's office, and it was closed for lunch. Eventually Ben managed to speak to someone and when we arrived home from golf today the house was warm. We got very chilly yesterday evening having come in cold from golf and found extra blankets in the cupboards.

On Sunday we didn't play golf but went to visit a nature reserve on Pinkney Island. We walked a short way and Ben got out his phone to photograph some of the information boards. When we got back to the car, we decided to drive to his fishing spot. He had just left the car when he realised he hadn't got his phone in his pocket. We retraced our steps with no luck but then Ben realised he was wearing his Samsung watch and when he tried to call his phone, he discovered that it was somewhere in the car and on searching it had fallen out of his pocket and was down by his seat - panic over!

Today we went to Bear Creek to play the course again. It was very busy, and they were struggling to retrieve the buggies from those finishing to get them ready to go out again. We were nearly half an hour late starting and were buddied up with a Canadian couple. My golf wasn't very good today and it got so late and dark we didn't manage to finish the 18th hole. We decided to go out for a meal with Gerry and Janet, who we had been playing with. They were a pleasant couple travelling the southern states of America and returning to Canada in 10 days' time. When we arrived back at the house it was warm so someone must have been in to mend the heating. The temperature is slowly rising again outside so hopefully it will be air conditioning we will need next.
